ET-4 THE SMART THERMOSTAT

CONTROLLED BY TELEPHONE

The Ener Tel ET-4 reduces the energy cost by keeping the temperature at the optimal energy saving level while you are at work or away from home and it waits for your telephone call to re-establish the temperature to the proper comfort level before you return home.

TELEPHONE ACCESS

• Install on any standard private telephone line.
• Accessible from any tone-pulse telephone on any touch-tone telephone line.
• Accessible from any tone-pulse telephone on any non-touch-tone telephone line.
• Uses telephone key pad as the input control.

ENERGY SAVING FEATURE

• Controls the thermostat for the greatest energy savings when the home is un-occupied.

ACTIVATION BY TELEPHONE

• Before returning home, telephone to the ET-4 and enter the personal 4-Digit access code for operation of the comfort mode.

AUTOMATIC COMFORT MODE SELECTION

• Once the 4-Digit access code is enterred hang-up the telephone and the ET-4 will automatically select the proper seasonal comfort mode and operate for a preselected period of time.

MANUAL COMFORT MODE SELECTION

• Once the 4-Digit access code is entered, the ET-4 may be manually controlled.
• For manual control, enter the proper comfort mode and the lengh of time the comfort mode is on. The ET-4 will set the proper temperature.

ACKNOWLEDGES ALL COMMANDS

• The ET-4 will acknowledge all the commands by an audible signal or seasonal melody.
• The unit will refuse all incorrect commands.

EASY PROGRAMMING

• All the codes, functions, and commands are programmable by telephone.
• A high level security code used for programming by telephone.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• Adaptable with all heating and cooling systems.
• Compatible with answering machines on the same telephone line.

SIMPLE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Dial telephone number.
2. Enter personal 4-Digit access code after predetermined number of rings.
3. Hang-up the telephone and the ET-4 will operate in the AUTOMATIC MODE.

4. If manual control is desired, don't hang-up. Punch numbers on key-pad for manual command.

First Digit - Comfort Mode Setting; only one setting may be chosen.

1 - Heating

 

2 - Cooling

 

Second Digit - Comfort Mode Setting ON or OFF or VERIFY the comfort mode status; only one setting may be chosen.

0 - OFF

1 - ON

9 - VERIFY status

Third Digit - Time of Comfort Mode Period; only one setting may be chosen.



Exemple: 1 - 1 - 5 = Heating - ON - 2˝ hours

NOTE:

The ET-2 is recommanded for cottage and coutry homes only.

Only one ET-2 unit needed per cottage.

The ET-2 and ET-4 may be installed as a low voltage control with up to six power relays (PR-25 available from Res Automatica Ltd.)

By installing the power relays near the electrical distribution panel, it is possible to control a number of circuit breakers eg. more baseboard heaters, hot water tank element, light, or air conditioning.
